We are excited to announce that St David’s Director, Liam Walsh, was named as winner of the Intensive Livestock Production category at the 2019 Animal Health All Star Awards last week!
The Animal Health All Star Awards is a recognition to the people that have made a contribution to the animal health industry through their work in research and development, professional care, customer service and responsible use of medicines.
The Animal Health All Star Awards brings together all the different sectors of the industry for an evening of celebration. The Intensive Livestock Production Award, sponsored by Interchem, looked for a professional whose actions have helped their clients become more efficient in every aspect of their business. Of particular interest to the judging panel was the performance of individuals who have led directly to a reduction of the use of antimicrobials and implemented a knowledge transfer programme for the benefit of their clients, animal welfare and the environment.
Liam is managing director of St David’s Poultry Team Ireland and has been involved in poultry production for over twenty years, working in Ireland and the UK. Over the years, Liam was conscious of the overuse of antibiotics, and with his team, he investigated and introduces alternatives such as probiotics, essential oils, organic acids and seaweed. Congratulations, Liam, especially alongside some strong veterinary finalists!
